Network Marketing Online. What does that mean to you? Does it sound scary, like a whole new skill set you’ve got to learn? Does it sound unnecessary, like a novelty that doesn’t really help your network marketing business? Or does it sound exciting, and a necessity in today’s online world? Hopefully you answered with the latter.
In our industry, you are missing the boat if you’re not taking advantage of Network Marketing Online. The overwhelming majority of our population surfs the web at least a couple of hours per day. Think about how often you jump on the Internet. Chances are you read up on news, check your email (and probably Facebook), balance your bank accounts, check movie times, and so much more.
So how does this relate to Network Marketing? Read on and I’ll explain:
Network Marketing Online: Build Leads
When I was working on the corporate end of an MLM, I explained to the owner how a big online presence could generate leads by the handful. He didn’t believe me. So I convinced one of the new sign ups to give it at try. He did. And within a month he had created more than 800 opt-in leads with nothing more than a free blog websites (he didn’t pay any money for it), his own email address, and a couple of minutes per week updating it.
How many of those leads do you suppose signed up under him? Two? Ten? Fifty? Actually, it was almost 200! That’s because the people who contacted him were already interested. They were warm leads. They wouldn’t have asked for more information if they weren’t interested.
So yes, that’s a 25% conversion rate from a simple blog! Granted I helped him with a few Search Engine Optimization techniques, but not many. He was just determined to keep updating, and that’s what really drove his success.
And that was only one month. By the end of the year he was one of the company’s biggest stars, toppling those who had been building their businesses for years.
Network Marketing Online: Be Seen By Thousands
There are many people in the MLM industry who truly feel that there is no place for the Internet in Network Marketing. I hate to say it, but they’re wrong. And sadly, they probably aren’t very successful either (granted there are always a few that make it big the “old school” way, but they are the exceptions rather than the rules).
One of the greatest attributes about the Internet is how visible it is. You can reach people across the country, even across the world, with a message. How great is that? By simply typing up some content somewhere, you could be generating leads from people you’ve never met, from places you’ve never heard of. I don’t know about you, but I sure think that beats meeting people one-on-one at the gas pumps and book stores.
Network Marketing Online: Easier Than Ever
These days it’s easier than ever to create a web presence. In fact, if you want to, you can sign up for a free blogging account at Blogger that costs you nothing and is so easy to update and add content to that it makes Microsoft Word feel like flying a jumbo jet. This is actually one of the most popular ways to get started, because you don’t need to know any HTML or programming; all you have to do is add content and hit “publish.”
Of course you can still build a custom website, too. Though that will require some specific skills on your part, or your willingness to outsource the task to a competent programmer and designer (don’t worry, freelancers are charging less and less).
One of these days I’m planning on writing a post on website creation, but until then just realize that the sky is literally the limit when it comes to creating a website. Network Marketing Online is only limited by your imagination, skills and/or budget.
